A little about me
Hey, I’m Mei! I’m a UX/UI designer based in Melbourne, Australia with a background in law and commerce.

I worked as a corporate tax consultant previously, but soon realised my passion for creating tangible impact and combining logical reasoning with creativity. After transitioning to UX, I’ve led and designed end-to-end digital experiences across diverse sectors such as government, retail, and finance.

I thrive in complex, fast-paced environments, and I'm always eager to try new things. With a keen interest in start-ups and hackathons as well, I enjoy the process of identifying a
problem -> ideation -> execution.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
My approach to design:
🎯

Understand the 'why'
I always start with the objectives of each task. Knowing what I am trying to achieve and why it is important keeps me motivated and focused. This principle aligns with Simon Sinek's Golden Circle – understanding the 'why' informs the 'how' and 'what' of my work.
👊

Challenge the status quo
I believe that just because something has worked well doesn't mean it can't be improved. I strive to find better ways to innovate and be creative. By challenging the status quo, I uncover new opportunities and solutions that may have been overlooked.
🔍

Details matter
While big-picture thinking is crucial, the small details matter too. Paying attention to the finer points can elevate a design from good to great. It's the little things that can make a significant difference in user experience and satisfaction.
🎇

Cultivate partnerships
I believe in the power of relationships and connections. Co-designing with stakeholders, users, and team members leads to better products. Collaborative efforts and diverse perspectives enrich the design process and result in more effective and user-centered solutions.
